About This Project

This three story, 60,000 square foot facility was acquired by SCAD from Atlanta NBC television affiliate WXIA. The building was renovated as part of a three phase $6.2 million conversion to instructional space for various communications programs for SCAD. The facility offers industry standard learning resources such as multi-camera sound stages with high definition broadcast capability, professional sound recording and mixing suites, editing rooms, a screening room, nearly two dozen classrooms, and set fabrication studios. The center houses academic majors within the School of Film, Digital Media and Performing Arts, including animation, interactive design and game development, motion media design, visual effects and one of the university’s newest academic programs, television producing.
